TO’ MEZCLAO is een jonge groep met getalenteerde Cubaanse muzikanten met een gemeenschappelijk doel: de klassieke en enigszins vergeten Cubaanse SON te redden. Als kwartet brengen ze deze Caribische muziekstroming tot leven onder leiding van Tomàs Sotolongo Fuentes.

TO’ MEZCLAO lijkt een traditioneel muziekkwartet, bestaande uit: contrabas, gitaar, tres, conga’s, bongo’s en stem. Zoe brengen ze de bekendste genres van Cubaanse muziek: SON. Maar ook de minder bekende changüí, de nengón, de rumba, de bolero, de guaracha komen voorbij Deze groep jonge mensen geeft de Cubaanse SON de frisheid en authenticiteit terug die dit ritme tot de favoriet maakten binnen het brede spectrum van dansritmes op het eiland.

"No matter Project" is geboren tijdens een opnamesessie in de DACdrummer opnamestudio. Het project brengt een nieuwe vorm van muzikale communicatie met zich mee. Er is maar één blik nodig om te weten wat ze met hun instrumenten willen zeggen. “No matter Project” was born in a recording session at DACdrummer Recording Studio. The project brings with it a new form of musical communication. It only takes one look to know what they want to say with their instruments. Two different universes come together and without any kind of sentence they join hands to bring to the public all kinds of feelings and emotions. From nostalgia to laughter, from reliving experiences to building new ones.

The trio To Mezclao led by Tomás Sotolongo who sings and plays the guitar, performs together with other artists from Helmond at the Theatre Speelhuis. They are accompanied by the Harmonieorkest of this beautiful town near Eindhoven in the Netherlands. This time, the prestigious trio delights us with a song from the traditional Cuban standard: "Quizás, quizás, quizás” (Osvaldo Farré). Carlos Gómez (Charli) plays the Cuban tres, while Damián Alvarez Castro accompanies with his usual bongo.
