Damián Alvarez Castro and Leydel Hernandez Baez met at the age of 10. They studied music together in Cuba where they always played guitar and percussion in every band they formed together. After graduating from La Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), they worked together in a band called Aceituna sin Hueso, being this another school for both of them.

Life takes them away from each other and now Leysdel lives in Dubai, where he works as a professional musician and music teacher; while Damian left his country to live in Belgium, where he graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with a master's degree in Jazz and teaching. They always had a dream in common, to carry on with a group they formed at the ENA, called ‘Somos Montes’. This time they bring us an interesting proposal, a duo that pays tribute to that stage of their lives.

With music like Son, Bolero, Guaracha, Chachacha, Mambo, Rumba... and many of the Cuban musical genres, the two musicians go back to their youth and their roots to bring you their beautiful versions of traditional songs.
