The Andres Fernandez Trio is a musical group led by Cuban pianist, vocalist and trombonist Andrés Fernández, accompanied by Cuban drummer Damian Alvarez Castro and Argentine bassist Javier Bretón.

About the Andres Fernandez Trio

The group originated as Duo Habana in 2016 in Costa Rica. In a short time, the duo gained popularity for their unique style that fuses traditional Cuban music with jazz and contemporary Latin American music. In 2021 Andres returned to Belgium and met drummer and composer Damian Alvarez Castro with whom he continued his work during the Covid stage.

In 2023, Argentine bassist Javier Breton joined the group and the band became the Andres Fernandez Trio. The addition of Javier, who is also an experienced jazz and Latin musician, added a new dimension to the group's sound.

The Andres Fernandez Trio has performed at various festivals and events in Costa Rica and Belgium, where they are currently based. They have been praised for their musical virtuosity and their ability to create an emotionally intense experience for their audience. In addition to performing their own original compositions, the group is also known for their unique versions of jazz classics and Cuban music.

Repertoire: Arrangements of Chan Chan, Besame Mucho, El cuarto de tula, Autumn Leaves... Own songs such as: "Con Luz Propia" and "Ilumination" (Andres Fernandez), "Afán" and "Una Triste mirada" (Damian Alvarez Castro).
